Safeguarding Training

Training for awareness, confidence and understanding

The Seventh-day Adventist Church (South Pacific) Safeguarding Training is delivered by Adsafe as part of its Safeguarding Services.  It is an important part of serving safely in child-related and governance roles across the Church. It helps build the awareness, confidence and practical understanding needed to safeguard children and vulnerable adults with care and responsibility.

To make training accessible and convenient, we offer flexible ways to learn through our e-learning portal, live Zoom training sessions, and special event training opportunities. 

Currently our Training is available for everyone serving in child-related or governance roles within Seventh-day Adventist church entities across Australia and New Zealand.  If you have any questions check out our FAQs for Training Participants.

Online Safeguarding Training

There are three options for accessing the Awareness Training:

  1. Complete the 'Awareness Training' module using the online training portal
  2. Attend a Zoom training session delivered live by an Adsafe trainer
  3. Attend training delivered face-to-face by the Adsafe team at a special event, for example a conference Big Camp

All training options are suitable for persons completing training for the first time or renewing their previous training. Awareness Training is valid for 3 years.

Online in the Adsafe Training Portal

The Awareness Training is available online in a self-paced training module ('Safer Churches Awareness Training') and can be accessed 24/7 online

Live Zoom Training Sessions 

All training sessions are suitable for anyone in a Church Governance role (Church Board/Leadership Team) or Church Volunteers in a child-related role.  

Registrations can be made for individuals or groups. If your church is needing to train a group of volunteers, select the group option on the registration form. 

Registrations will close 5pm on the Thursday prior to the training session. Once registered, you will be emailed the Zoom link the day before the session. Attendance sheets will also be emailed if a group booking was made.
