We seek to offer you a supportive environment to nurture your healing and recovery. We invite you contact us at Survivor Support
Our experienced and professional Survivor Services team is here for you. We listen, believe and act to provide you care and support through specialised case management.
Our aim is to create a safe environment where, as a survivor of sexual or physical abuse, you can share your story, feel heard and be empowered to seek justice and healing pathways. This may be through the provision of information, advocacy and/or referrals to external services.
Our team is also there to support you through any church or external processes that are required as a result of managing current risk. Our role is to assist you to navigate your way through the various options while providing the support, advice on redress and linkage to the services you need, in order to start your healing journey.
We acknowledge that coming forwarding and speaking with someone about the trauma you have experienced is difficult.
"In the silence of the unheard, your voice can be a revolution”.
We invite you contact us at Survivor Support and we will offer you caring support to nurture your healing and recovery.
What to expect when you speak to one of our Case Officers:
- You will be believed, respected, valued and affirmed.
- Confidentiality and privacy will be maintained. However, exceptional circumstances may arise where confidentiality will need to be broken. These include where a client will cause serious injury to themselves or others. Or when our file is subpoenaed by police, victim services, health services etc.
- Any disclosure where a child is at risk of harm, or who disclose abuse or harm, will require Survivor Services to make an immediate report to the relevant agency.
- When an allegation of a crime has been disclosed, Adsafe has a legal obligation to report the crime to the relevant child/police authorities according to each State, Territory and Country.
- Our main goal is to empower you to report your own abuse. However, we recognise that this may be difficult. With your permission, we may do this on your behalf.
- Not all survivors who disclose abuse wish to pursue justice through the Police or criminal systems (at the time). Survivor Services will respect your decision and assist you to find other alternatives or pathways towards achieving justice and healing.
- In addition, we encourage adults who disclose abuse to access specialist counselling services.
